We were looking for a fun and unique date idea to celebrate Valentine’s Day and stumbled upon Quest XO Chocolate. Booking the experience was super easy—you can get tickets in advance through Eventbrite. They usually run at least one chocolate painting workshop a week, sometimes on weekdays, sometimes on weekends, so there’s some flexibility. The workshops are pretty diverse too. Ours was couple-themed, and they encouraged us to create individual chocolate paintings that could be combined into one connected piece—such a sweet touch (literally and figuratively). When you book, you get to choose your canvas: Milk Chocolate, Vegan Dark Chocolate, Ruby, Caramel, or White Chocolate. The prices vary slightly depending on your pick, but all options look and taste amazing. It was honestly such a cozy, creative way to spend time together—and now we have edible art to remember it by.

When we arrived, the studio felt welcoming and creative. There were loose leaf teas and chocolate samples to enjoy, and we sat around a long table with other participants (perfect for meeting new people!). Everyone got their own 5×5″ chocolate canvas they selected, a set of brushes, and edible cocoa butter “paints” in vibrant colors. There’s no need to bring anything—they’ve got it all prepped for you.
The instructor gives a quick intro, then you’re free to do your thing. Some painted florals, others played with swirls and texture. We took inspiration from Van Gogh’s Starry Night and painted two people sitting on a hill, backs facing the viewer. One couple even did two dogs sharing pasta—it was so creative and fun to see everyone’s ideas.
You get to bring your finished piece home in a clear gift box. The edible paint is made from cocoa butter, so as long as you keep it out of the sun, it’ll last pretty much forever. If not, just enjoy it within the year.
Definitely a fun pick for anyone looking for something creative to do in Toronto!
